We are back for another year and are looking forward to additional riders joining us. We received very positive feedback from our riders last year. Based upon the input we were given, we feel that this year will be even better.
Once again, we will be hosting the ride in tandem with the American Heart Association Central Arkansas Heart Walk. Heart disease remains the number one killer of men and women in the United States. It is the number one killer of Arkansans. Arkansans rank 17th in the nation with regard to incidents of cardiovascular disease. There is no doubt that physical fitness greatly minimizes our risk of Heart Disease. So a WALK and a RIDE are a perfect way to spend a Saturday supporting the efforts of the American Heart Association to move us into a healthier population and raise the awareness of the impact of cardiovascular disease in Arkansas.
This is a great opportunity for you and your family to come out and enjoy two great events together. If you ride, but you family does not, bring them along to walk. There will be food, fun activities, music and great information on heart disease.
We will begin our day at Burns Park. We will head out towards Two Rivers Parks and on through Roland up to Wye Mountain and then circling back the same route to finish up where we began, Burns Park. We will have SAG support and rest stops along the route.
We will have three route choices. We will ride the same 20 mile (our mileage was off last year, and has been corrected) 50 mile and 100k routes as our 2013 Ride. Contact Vickie Wingfield for 20 mile, 50 mile and 100K route details.
