Dr. Soomro, MD, joined the Interventional Cardiology team after completing his clinical fellowship at UAMS. He earned his medical degree from Dow Medical College where he graduated with special honors. He completed his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine and Clinical Cardiology from Northwell Health/Hofstra School of Medicine-Staten Island. In addition to patient care, Dr. Soomro shares a keen interest in clinical research and completed a Clinical Research Certificate Program (CRTP) from Drexel University. He has been published in multiple peer-reviewed medical journals and national conferences as well. Dr. Soomro is board certified in Internal Medicine, Adult Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Vascular Ultrasound. Outside of work, Dr. Soomro enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Dr. Almaddah (Dr. Nuri) is an interventional cardiologist dedicated to excellence in patient care. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. In 2007, he earned a medical degree with honors from the University of Zawia Faculty of Medicine in Libya. Dr. Almaddah worked in the largest specialist heart center in Libya, National Heart, in the post-cardiac ICU prior to moving to the US for residency. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Mass General Brigham Salem Hospital in Massachusetts where he served as chief resident. He went on to complete a fellowship in cardiology at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, an interventional cardiology fellowship at University for Medical Sciences at Little Rock, and a Masters in Interventional Cardiology from National University of Ireland. Dr. Nuri enjoys outdoor activities, reading and spending time with his family.

Dr. Anton Lishmanov is originally from Siberia, Russia. He moved to Columbia, Missouri in 2009 where he completed his internal medicine residency. He then continued with a fellowship in Cardiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, followed by Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center in New York and finally Advanced Interventional Cardiology Fellowship University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Prior to joining Arkansas Heart Hospital, he was in private practice in Jacksonville, FL.

Dr Lishmanov enjoys treating patients with all forms of cardiovascular and venous disease. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Endovascular medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Adult Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Vascular Ultrasound. His true passion is interventional heart failure, where he uses his vast training in all areas of cardiology and critical care medicine to help the patients with failing hearts.

Dr. Wes Lane grew up in Abilene, Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech University and University School of Medicine where he graduated top of his class. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine followed by fellowships in Cardiovascular disease and Interventional Cardiology at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, TX. Dr. Lane is Board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease and has received numerous awards. Dr. Lane’s passions include coronary and structural heart interventions and longitudinal care of the cardiac patient. Dr. Nash is a native of Mississippi. He graduated from the University of Mississippi with a B.A. in Biology before attending the University of Mississippi School of Medicine for his M.D. degree. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Baptist Health Systems in Birmingham, AL before moving back to Mississippi to complete his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. His Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship training was performed at East Carolina University and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. During his final year of fellowship Dr Nash had the opportunity to train under many of the doctors at Arkansas Heart Hospital. Dr Nash is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Adult Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Vascular Ultrasound. Dr. Nash enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the Arkansas outdoors. Dr. William Aimar Rollefson is a Little Rock cardiologist board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology and is certified as an advanced cardiovascular life support instructor. A native of Little Rock, Dr. Rollefson graduated from Hendrix College in Conway before earning his medical degree with honors from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1991. He then went to Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu to complete both his internship and residency. He completed his fellowship in cardiology at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, where he remained for several years as director of cardiovascular interventions before coming to Arkansas Heart Hospital Clinic. Dr. Vijay Raja is an interventional cardiologist who cares for patients with all forms of coronary, vascular and structural heart disease. His passions include treating patients with refractory symptoms, those needing acute interventions and patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Dr. Raja earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and then completed his medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his post-graduate training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. In addition to patient care, Dr. Raja has a strong interest in health care management and earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Dallas during his cardiology fellowship.

Originally from Russia, Dr. Vasili Lendel moved to Nova Scotia in 2000 for a fellowship to study medicine. He completed his residency and cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in 2007. He then went into private practice at the Memphis Heart Clinic in Tennessee. Dr. Lendel joined Arkansas Heart Hospital in 2011. Dr. Lendel’s accomplishments include many medical and academic distinctions. He has participated in many medical research studies and has spent time volunteering in hospitals and nursing homes. He currently resides in Little Rock with his wife, who is an endocrinologist, and his two daughters.  Dr. Lendel’s personal interests include music, reading and athletics, especially soccer, hiking, running and fishing.

Dr. Paulo Ribeiro, who is board certified in cardiology, was most recently a professor of medicine and director of the cardiology fellowship program at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California. He received his medical degree in 1977 from Universidade do Porto in Portugal and his Ph.D. in 1992 from Universidade Nova De Lisboa. He completed his internal medicine residency and fellowship in cardiology in 1984 at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School at Hammersmith Hospital in London. He is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology and has published 130 manuscripts and 34 papers in peer-reviewed cardiology journals. In addition, Dr. Ribeiro has published seven book chapters, including one in Dr. Eric Topol’s Textbook of Interventional Cardiology.
