Why did you decide to become a doctor?

My parents were doctors and they inspired me to be who I am in life. My father was my role model growing up, and in my pursuit of being more like him, I was exposed to the medical field.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your profession?

Cardiology is a challenging field, which pushes my boundaries both as an individual and physician. The most rewarding aspect of my profession is seeing the impact you have on people. It’s very gratifying to know that someone who came in at one of the lowest points, is now moving on to live a thriving, viable life with their family and friends. It makes all the challenges worth it!

What is your approach to patient care?

I feel it’s really important for a patient to feel that their physician is someone they can trust, and someone who can guide them through the lowest points of their illness to bring them back to becoming a more viable and healthier person. I would like patients to feel that I am an advocate for them, a colleague and someone who is there for them in their journey of healthcare.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy reading, traveling and spending time with my wife and daughter.
