Arkansas Heart Hospital announces the hiring of its latest Bariatric Surgeon, Dr. J.D. Fuller. Fuller is a native Arkansan and most recently served as a surgeon with Arkansas Bariatric Surgery in Little Rock.

“We are pleased and excited to welcome Dr. J.D. Fuller to the Arkansas Heart Hospital family,” said President and COO Drew Jackson, “Dr. Fuller’s passion about health care innovation and his desire to have a huge impact on health in Arkansas and beyond makes him a logical addition to our Bariatric and Metabolic Institute.”

Fuller is a graduate of Baylor University and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He specializes in bariatric surgery, advanced laparoscopy and health care innovation. He enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, traveling, flying, being outdoors, reading and starting new adventures.

Arkansas Heart Hospital proudly announces construction to begin on its second hospital in Bryant, Arkansas in the coming weeks. The new hospital is located less than 15 miles from its flagship. “We are excited to build a second hospital in one of the fastest growing communities in Arkansas”, said Drew Jackson, President and COO. “This new general acute hospital will provide innovative cardiac care, while also focusing on bariatrics and peripheral artery disease.”

The new four story modern hospital will be located off Highway 5 in Bryant. “It was a natural choice,” said Dr. Bruce Murphy, Chief Executive. “Saline County has been the home to our Benton Clinic for many, many years. It’s a special community to me and I am delighted at the decision to expand there.”

Arkansas Heart Hospital Encore will include a full service emergency department, state of the art imaging and an attached medical facility with multiple specialties. The projected opening date for Arkansas Heart Hospital Encore is the latter part of 2020.
