It’s football season and that means it’s time for wings! If regular wings are off limits in your bariatric eating plan, our creative dieticians have your back with this bariatric friendly crispy cauliflower wings recipe, an interesting and delicious twist on traditional wings.
Ingredients:
- 1 small head of cauliflower
- 3 eggs ¾ cup almond flour
- ¾ cup parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. paprika
- Salt and pepper
- Sugar-free BBQ sauce of choice (G. Hughes Sugar-free sweet honey wing sauce if our favorite!)
Directions:
- Wash and chop cauliflower into florets. Each piece should be the size of a small egg.
- In a bowl whisk eggs together.
- In a separate bowl combine the remaining ingredients.
- Dip each piece of cauliflower into the egg wash and then into the batter and place onto a parchment lined baking sheet or air fryer.
- Spray the florets with a non-stick cooking spray or oil.
- Bake at 420 degrees for 20 minutes or in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
Recipe yields 4 servings.
